Daylight White LED Lights
The ideal daytime lighting system for reptiles that do not require UV such as leopard geckos, corn snakes or royal pythons.

The WhitePython™ Daylight White LED Lights offer a modern approach to lighting your reptile’s terrarium. Utilizing minimum energy, these innovative and modular lights provide a bright daylight effect which is suitable for all reptiles.

Unlike other lighting systems, the Daylight White LED Lights can be installed in a matter of seconds. With it’s simple magnetic tape fixing, you can position the lights in the desired area without the need for any screws or fixings. What’s more, with it’s innovative auxillary fittings, there is no need for unwiring plugs to poke the leads through the back of the terrarium. To see how simple this system really is, watch the installation video by clicking here.

Each led strip is extendable and interchangeable with other colours for various lighting effects. For a more vibrant day time colour you can combine the Daylight White with the Moonlight Blue. Alternatively, you can combine with the Nightlight Red for a warmer day light effect or Jungle Green for the ultimate Rainforest environment.

The White Python LED lighting system is the best on the market, in my opinion. Not only is it a great price but its easy to install into any terrarium, especially as its a magnetic system, so no messing about with hooks nd screws etc. The light is much brighter and cleaner than other systems on the market, but there are dimmer accessories etc if you want to dim, as appropriate. Great on saving energy, great product life, never had an issue Would recommend for any reptiles that don’t require UV lighting but are diurnal, I use them for all my snakes, and can even be used to help create a cycle if your room isn’t too bright for nocturnal species. Other coloured systems are also available for nocturnal animals, which offer exactly the same quality of desired light and are great for geckos and pythons, to name a few. Different sized kits are also available as well as extensions. Highly recommend, you really won’t find a better product on the market.

    Amazing!

Purchased this product a few weeks ago for my new viv for my king snake. I saw the white python advert in the practical reptile keeping magazine and thought I’d give it a try. Well they are the next big thing for reptile equipment because they couldn’t be any better. Can not fault the product for cost either. For my 4ft viv I bought the 3ft day light led because they are very bright! Looking forward to future investments for my other snakes! Highy recommend 10/10

The lights themselves were very good and bright, I bought the 3ft day light ones and they were bright enough. However, I installed them properly, cleaned the area where they were going, let it dry, stuck the magnets on and then put the lights in. Everything was going great until they fell down the first time, then the second and third time. the magnets are not sticking to the Vivarium top at all, they keep falling off after 10-20 minutes. Also the led lights themselves seemed to get quite hot. I gave up with them after the 3rd time they fell. I’m still going to use them, I just have to find something to keep them up with.

Great idea and do produce a good level of ligbt in my viv. Ive gone for same set up as Dee with the 3ft strips in my 4ft viv but I’ve had same issue with magnetic strip falling off the light unit so ive had to remove them in case my python gets a surprise bonk on the head. If there are sturdier fixings available please let me know.

I bought a 4ft white LED kit for my 6ft viv, I wanted something that wasn’t going to suck on the juice like standard strip bulbs, great product, installed easily in seconds with the ability to extend if needed thanks to modular design. Gives off a perfect amount of light, great for my snake to create a day/night light cycle as I don’t need UV for her. they do get a tad warm, but nothing that would burn, and because they fit flush, there’s no chance of your scaled friend coiling round them. Over all really pleased and would recommend, however it seems that there may be a running theme with the adhesive on the magnetic fixings, as my lights have started to fall off on a daily basis, multiple time infact, perhaps it might be worth looking at including a different fixing?

These seemed to be ok in the beginning but after a while they constantly fall every 30mins. The sticky pads can not handle the heat. I will have to look for something better to light up my retics.

Bought two sets of these lights, they look fantastic and really brighten up the viv but recently they have been falling off and frightening the lizard.
The magnets don’t seem to be holding on to the top of the viv. The glue doesn’t hold well. Is therein an alternative to holding these lights up. Thanks.

Hi Daniel, I am sorry the magnetic tape isn’t working well for you. We do have metal clips which I am more than happy to send to you free of charge, so if you have a wooden vivarium these will work just fine. Please send us an email with your address and I’d be happy to send them to you. Many thanks, Chris

These are fantastic lights. I’ve been using LED kits from IKEA for the last 3-4 years, but the IKEA ones are a mere shadow of the White Python lights (pun intended). The level of emitted light just doesn’t compare, and I had been planning to use LED aquarium lights before I decided to give White Python a try. The light from WP is similar to my aquarium lights, but the aquarium units are far bulkier and run hotter.

I’ve been using one set for the last 9 months in one of my garter snake vivs, and have just ordered a second kit to replace the lights in a second viv. As the old IKEA LEDs start to fail I’ll be replacing with the WP kits.

Oh, and for me no problems with the magnetic strips – I stuck them to the roof and they’ve stayed there since. But my garters aren’t kept at high humidities.

I brought the moonlight blue for my leopard gecko and my reptile shop said it can blind them is that true or false thanks

  14. Posted May 25, 2016 at 9:33 am | Permalink

    Hi Rebecca,
I can assure you this is absolutely false. However, it should be noted that this light is best for use during evening viewing only, as the light is more for the owner’s viewing pleasure than for your reptile, which is able to see perfectly well in the dark. In some cases where a reptile has extra light sensitivity, such as if it’s an Albino, it may mean a Dimmer is recommended, so that the light is not too overpowering. I have personally used our LED lights for Leopard geckos since we first started testing these lights back in 2011. I have never experienced any such issues, but I have always opted to use alongside a Dimmer. I hope this helps. Regards, Chris Jones

great product so far no problems. has there been any studies on these to see if plants grow under them? as they are near on the 6500k used to grow plants?

  16. Posted January 24, 2018 at 8:46 am | Permalink

Hi Ash, I’m afraid there have been no “official” studies on this. However, we have used these ourselves with bio-active terraria and found good success with certain plant species. Furthermore, adding a strip of the Red light can give greater success with many species which require more red light. I must confess though, we are not plant experts and have not sought out best advice here, so my thoughts are really based on very limited tests in my own personal terrariums.

Had a three foot fluorescent tube fitted to the top front of my vivarium (so it could not be seen). My Royal Python (who loves to climb) would get up onto the tube which was fine until he grew and started to pop the tube out of the metal clips. This eventually pulled out the cable clips and despite numerous goes at re securing them this continued with him breaking two tubes, but thankfully not hurting himself.

When I saw these LED lights I decided that they looked like a solution and bought the three foot kit for daylight white, along with a dimmer switch and metal clips.

Since fitting them I no longer have unsightly wires hanging down inside the vivarium, and the LED strips have remained inside their metal clips securely. I was going to screw the clips in, but decided to use the magnetic strips supplied for ease. I have not had any problems with them becoming unstuck, and they have now been in position for over six months.

The LED’s give ample light and I would highly recommend them.
